What Is FUTA’sCut-Off Mark?

The term “school cut-off mark” refers to the score required by the specific institution to which a candidate is applying or hopes to be admitted to pursue a certain course of study. In this case that would be the cut-off mark for FUTA.

What Is Departmental Cut-Off Mark?

After meeting the school cut-off market, all candidates are also expected to meet their various departmental cut-off marks to be eligible for admission.

This is because each department has the autonomy to set its specific cut-off mark as the so pleases. However, some departments usually work with the general school cut-off mark, while others like medicine and surgery usually require more from their prospective candidates.

Whatever the case, FUTA and its respective departments must not set a cut-off mark that is below the general JAMB cut-off mark for any reason.

What is the FUTA Cut-Off Mark?

Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA cut-off mark is the minimum score you must score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Post UTME (If any) to be eligible for admission to study the course you have chosen.

For the 2024/2025 academic sessions, the school has set its cut-off mark at 180. What this means is that you are required to score not less than 1800 to be eligible for the school’s POST UTME exams or screening.

Note, that scoring 180 does not guarantee admission to FUTA, as your prospective department might have a cut-off mark that is slightly higher than the school’s general cut-off mark.

This is why you should aim to score as many points as possible in your JAMB as it also helps your chances when it’s time for your cumulative scores.
