About Pentecost University
Pentecost University is located in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, in Sowutuom. The Pentecost Bible College, which at first primarily trained lay leaders and full-time ministers for the Church of Pentecost (COP), gave rise to it. The former president of Ghana, J. A. Kufuor, opened PUC at the Sowutuom campus on May 22, 2003.
On May 6, 2004, the first PUC Council was sworn in. The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, granted Pentvars its Presidential Charter on May 28, 2020, after the organization had received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) in November 2004.
The university was connected to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the University of Cape Coast, and the University of Ghana before obtaining a Presidential Charter.
The university announced on June 1, 2020, that Rev. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua will take Apostle Daniel Okyere Walker’s place as the first Vice-Chancellor upon the institution’s complete accreditation.
