About KNUST 

The public Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), sometimes referred to as UST, Tech, or Kwame Tech, is situated in Kumasi, Ghana’s Ashanti region. The university prioritizes technology and science.

It is the biggest institution in the Ghanaian Ashanti Region and the nation’s second-old public university.

The first students at the Kumasi College of Technology were admitted to the engineering faculty in 1951 (though they did not begin classes until 1952).

In 1952, the institution received official recognition as the Kumasi College of Technology through an Act of Parliament. 200 teacher-training students from Achimota College in the Greater Accra Region were transferred to form the college’s core.

The University of London was a member of the college. The college was given full university status in 1961. The entire land area of the institution is 2,512.96 acres (1,016.96 hectares). The Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi, is located eight miles (13 km) to the east of the main campus, which has an area of roughly seven square miles.

KNUST Admission Requirements

Not only must applicants meet the specific cut-off points for the courses they wish to enroll in, but they also need to meet certain general requirements. These general requirements usually consist of the following:
