Ashesi University Courses and Cut-Off Points

A minimum grade of C6 in six areas (Integrated Science, Core Math, Core English), plus three electives, is required of WASSCE undergraduate applicants.

The applicant’s average WASSCE score is determined using these subjects. In the meantime, candidates for the IGCSE (GCE O-Level) must have six passes, including three “A” Level passes (grades A–D) in mathematics, science, and English.

Ashesi University Admission Requirements 

The following are the main requirements for undergraduate admission:

• A complete application form must include a personal essay. Transcripts or report cards from high school, covering at least six terms.
• The WASSCE applicants need to have passed six subjects including Mathematics, Core English, Integrated Science, and three electives.
• Every of these subjects requires at least a C6 grade.
• Applicants for the IGCSE (GCE O-Level) must have six passes, including three ‘A’ Level passes (grades A–D) in mathematics, science, and English.
• International applicants may submit an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, an American or Canadian high school diploma, a certified copy of their original French Baccalaureate score and a certified English translation of the score, or any other similar exam results that have been approved by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
• International applicants’ transcripts and supporting materials must be translated into English and authenticated as copies of the original documents.
• The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) are two tests that international students must take to demonstrate their English language proficiency.
• Official transcripts from each college or university attended are required for Ghanaians hoping to transfer to Ashesi University from other institutions.

Engineering Applicants Admission Requirements

Undergraduate engineering applicants must meet the following specific admission requirements:

• Candidates for the WASSCE should have at least a C6 in each of the three required courses (science, math, and English) and three elective subjects (for example physics and elective mathematics).
• Candidates for A-Levels should have three passes (A-D), with Physics and Mathematics required.
• Applicants for the IGCSE (GCE O-Level) require six passes, three of which are in science, math, and English. It is also permissible to receive a D or higher in Further Mathematics instead of Mathematics.
• It is anticipated that applications for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in Mathematics and Physics HL would be competitive. However, it is permissible to receive at least a 5 on Mathematics SL or a 3 or higher on Mathematics HL.
