UENR

The University of Energy and Natural Resources is a public university in Ghana, set up by an Act of Parliament in 2011.

UENR is all about energy, natural resources, and the environment. They want to be the go-to place for people who want to learn about renewable energy, green tech, and all that good stuff.

UENR has some branches of schools, like the School of Engineering, the School of Energy, and the School of Geosciences. And you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to go to UENR. They’re all about training the next generation of scientists, engineers, and managers to help Ghana – and the rest of the world – go green.

Is University of Energy and Natural Resources a private school?

No, UENR is not a private school. It’s a public institution, funded by the government.

So, being a public university means a few things. First, it means UENR is accountable to the government and the people of Ghana. That means they have to keep their standards high and their tuition fees low.

Also, they’re required to serve the public interest, which means they’re all about training the next generation of leaders in energy and natural resources.

And best of all, because it’s a public university, the government helps subsidize the cost of tuition, making it more affordable for you!

UENR fees

If you’re a Ghanaian student, your fees are going to depend on what level of program you’re in and whether you’re a weekend or regular student.

Regular students can expect to pay between GH¢ 2,000 to GH¢ 10,000, which isn’t too expensive! For weekend students, that number ranges from GH¢ 3,000 to GH¢ 6,000, which is still pretty affordable.
