Anchor University Admission Requirements
You need to score 160 and above in the 2025 UTME before you can apply to study at Anchor University. It is a must you have 5 credit passes in related subjects at the ordinary level examinations (WAEC, NECO, IGSCE, NABTEB, etc.) in which Mathematics and English language are compulsory.
However, for the Departments of English and Linguistics, French, History, and International Studies a credit pass in mathematics is not required. Candidates who wish to change to Anchor University can proceed to do a Change of Course/Institution on the JAMB portal.

Anchor University Lagos (AUL) Dress Code
Proper dressing is an important part of Anchor University’s culture and core values. Students must follow these guidelines to make their academic experience enjoyable. These rules apply to both male and female students.
A. MALE STUDENTS
- All male students must dress corporately for lecture halls, examination halls, and special ceremonies like Sunday Worship Service, Matriculation, Fresher’s Week, Convocation, and Public Lectures. A typical corporate dress includes a shirt and necktie, trousers, with or without a jacket, and covered shoes.
- On national days like Independence Day, students can wear traditional attire.
- Shirts with offensive or inappropriate inscriptions are strictly banned on campus. Male students must not wear trousers without bands or ties with sneakers. Wearing a tie with canvas shoes is not considered corporate.
- Male students must not have jerry curls, treated hair, scarves, braided hair, painted fingernails, long nails, necklaces, rings, wristbands, earrings, or ankle chains. Only conventional wristwatches are allowed.
- Wearing long-sleeve shirts without buttoning the sleeves is against school rules. Male students must tuck their shirts into their trousers properly and arrange their shirt collars neatly. Sagging, or wearing trousers below the hip line, is a punishable offense.

B. FEMALE STUDENTS
- All female students must dress corporately for lecture halls, examination halls, and special events such as Sunday Worship Service, Matriculation, Convocation, Public Lectures, and other university functions.
- Corporate attire for females includes a decent skirt suit, a skirt and blouse, or a modest gown, paired with low-heel-covered shoes. All skirts and dress hems must fall well below the knees to ensure proper coverage, even when seated.
- Female students can wear national or foreign attire, as long as it is decently sewn. However, sleeveless dresses, baby sleeves, spaghetti straps, and camisoles without a jacket are not allowed in lecture rooms or on campus.
- Students must tuck their shirts properly and ensure their shirt collars are neatly arranged. Jersey tops with cotton collars are prohibited for lectures, public events, or special ceremonies.
- Skirts can be straight, flared, or pleated, but skirts and pencil skirts with uneven edges are not allowed. No skirt should be tight or body-hugging.
- Shawls or scarves over dresses, or dresses with very thin straps (spaghetti straps) are not allowed in lecture and examination halls, and on campus. Strapless blouses or short blouses that do not cover the hip line are also prohibited.
- Clinging clothing, including body-hugging and stretchy materials, is strictly forbidden in lecture and examination halls, as well as throughout the university environment.
