What are the requirements to study at the University of Johannesburg?

Requirements for admission to degree programs

1. Finish high school with distinction
2. Reach the necessary total Admission Point Score (APS) for the desired program.

3. By faculty regulations, obtain the necessary rating or APS level for each mandatory course.

UJ Tuition and Fee Structure

2. A 7.1% overall rise in residence fees

Only formal programs are subject to the tuition fee increase adjustment mentioned above.
Each faculty has a different increase for short-term learning programs.

All semester, full-time, part-time, and extracurricular [non-subsidized] programs) and all students must pay the following minimum amounts before or on the day of academic registration for their first installment on university accounts, except those whose employers or sponsors cover all of their tuition.

  • The cost of tuition for day students (those who do not live in the homes) is R5 560.00.
  • The cost of tuition for residence students (those who have admission letters from the residences) is R9 270.00.
