About Moi University
Moi University was first established in 1984 by Kenya’s Parliament. In its inaugural year, the university only had one department: the Department of Forestry.
This department was established by the University of Nairobi. There were eighty-three pupils enrolled that year.
In 1996, the university launched a school of medicine, which was Kenya’s second at the time. Moi University’s first Vice-Chancellor was Professor D. Ohiambo, who governed the university for four years, from 1984 to 1988.

Moi University Campus

#1. Moi University Main Campus
Moi University’s main campus is Eldoret West site, which is located near the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA). Landmark: Near the Kenya Pipeline on the Uganda-Eldoret Highway, approximately 4 kilometers from the main Eldoret town. The West Campus has approximately 6,000 students.
Students of Moi University attend various types of schools, including arts, economics and business, tourism and human resource development, event management, and hospitality.
Moi University Eldoret West campus provides degree, master’s, certificate, and PhD programs that run both during the day and at night.
#2. Moi University Mombassa Campus
