About Godfrey Okoye University

The Very Reverend Father Professor Dr. Christian Anieke established Godfrey Okoye University (GO University) in 2009 on behalf of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) granted the institution an operating license on November 3, 2009. It is part of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu in Nigeria, the first institution in Africa to be owned by a Catholic diocese.

Beginning with 215 students in 2009, the university admitted 1,200 by the end of 2012.
