This scholarship is provided by the America Bar Associate, but  this opportunity is not limited to just ABA members only, it extends to even non members of ABA who wants to major in Tourism.

Due the fact that fact that Academic Merit Scholarship is open to both ABA and non-ABA Members. To be eligible, candidates will have completed, at a minimum, their first year of an accredited university (4-year university/college or junior college); or  must have a finished his/her first degree and have declared major or course of study relevant to the transportation, travel and tourism industry, and also the candidate  must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher from the first degree or if the candidate is still studying, the candidate must possess a 3.4 cumulative GPA from the previous level.

Winners are judged on their high level of academic achievement from their first degree, and another contributing factor to determining the winner is based on  character, leadership, financial need, and commitment to advancing the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.

Applicants should know how to put a simple essay together, because he/she would be required to submit a 500-word essay discussing the role they hope to play in advancing the future of the transportation, motor-coach, travel, and tourism/hospitality industry.

Those applicants affiliated with ABA-member companies receive additional consideration to those who are not affiliated with ABA-members,  but that not withstanding non-members or non-affiliated members of ABA has been recorded to be one of the most to receive this scholarship award because of the level of intelligence put fort by those candidate.

The result of this scholarship test doesn’t take time to be made known to the public,  because all applicants are notified of the competition results in May.

2. ABA DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Worth: $2,500

Deadline Varies.

The Diversity Scholarship focuses on broadening the number of traditionally underrepresented groups in the management and operation ranks of the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.

Eligible candidates must have completed, at a minimum, their first year of college at an accredited university; must have a declared major or course of study relevant to the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.

This opportunity doesn’t required much commutative GPA, because you just need 3.0 GPA from your previous level or from your first degree to be eligible for this opportunity.

3. AH&LEF GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Worth $5,000

Deadline: April 15, 2019

This opportunity was bred by the many requests for graduate scholarships written to AH&LEF, and because of this,  AH&LEF began offering a scholarship exclusively for graduate students majoring in Tourism and related courses in 2008, undergraduates not included.

This program is guaranteed witt no flicks because it  is funded from proceeds generated by the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS).

Eligible applicants must have either an undergraduate degree in hospitality,  and looking to majoring in tourism,  must have  four years’ employment in the lodging industry after graduation.

4. BARBARA ODOM-WESLEY SPIRIT OF ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Worth: $2,000

Deadline: FEBRUARY 17, 2019

This scholarship opportunity is not funded by big firms or organisations like others.

The Barbara Odom-Wesley Spirit of Achievement Scholarship is named in honor of Barbara Odom-Wesley, the chartering president of the Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

This scholarship may be used at any two-year or four-year college or university where the applicant is looking to obtain his masters in Tourism,  which insinuates that trade, technical, and cosmetology schools are not eligible, so it is advisable that if an applicant wants to be awarded this scholarship, the applicant should chose a college or a university for their post graduate studies.

7.GRCF ECONOMIC CLUB BUSINESS STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIP

The Economic Club of Grand Rapids established a fund in 2000 to provide financial assistance to students pursuing study abroad in business Tourism and other related fields of studies.

10. IFA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP – MARRIOTT FOUNDATION

Worth: $1,500

Scholarship Deadline: OCTOBER 31, 2018
This opportunity is a product of a collaboration between Franchise Education and Research Foundation and the Marriott Foundation. And it is a competitive one-time award, and  will be presented annually.

11. JIM FUNK SCHOLARSHIP 2019

Scholarship Deadline: APRIL 22, 2019

This scholarship award was established in 2012, this scholarship is the LRA Education Foundation’s most prestigious award. It is named for the former LRA President and CEO Jim Funk who was instrumental in starting this foundation during his 30 years of service to the LRA.

The good thing about this scholarship is that it is renewable on an annual basis for up to four years provided minimum GPA and enrollment standards are met.
