North-South University is the first private university in Bangladesh. NSU established in 1992 and approved under the Private University Act, 1992 by the government of Bangladesh. The campus can serve up to 20,000 students with amenities and facilities.
It contains six buildings with three basements on six acres of land having 665,000 square feet of floor space. it was established by a group of philanthropists, industrialists, bureaucrats, and academics.
The university was formally inaugurated on 10 February 1993 by the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is the Chancellor of NSU.

East-West University is a private university approved by the Government of Bangladesh under the Private University Act (Act 34) of 1992, East-West University was launched in 1996.
Classes started in September 1996 with 6 faculty members and 20 students on the campus located at 43 Mohakhali C/A, Dhaka-1212. Today there are over 216 faculty members and approximately 8914 students enrolled through a process of selection.
East-West University has three academic faculties. Each faculty has departments. A Dean is the head of each faculty, while departments are headed by Chairpersons. The Department of Business Administration is the largest and one of the oldest departments of the university.
