Cost of Studying in Qatar
Cost of tuition fees depends on each individual institution. Both locals and international students pay the same fees. with the full price of about 72,100 QR per semester That is approximately US$19,800.
Some universities charge fees based on ‘credit hour’, and having around 12 credit hours each semester. For instance, Qatar University, undergraduate program cost 1000 QR which is equivalent to $365.00 per credit hour. Scholarship opportunities are offered to some selected applicants from outside Qatar to pursue undergraduate programs. These applicants may be nominated by their embassies or can apply directly to the university.

Costs of Living
The cost of living in Qatar can be ridiculously high, aside from some known benefits, the cost of living in Qatar is very high. Qatar imports most of its food items so, for the availability of varieties of brands for expatriates, they will be exceptionally expensive than local equivalents.
Admission requirements vary based on the university requirement and also the type of application (new, transfer, visiting or non-degree applicants). Applicants who are applying to Qatar University as an undergraduate are required to go through the following steps to secure their admission:
- Complete online application
- Final, official and certified high school transcript
- Health Certificate issued inside Qatar (International students please refer to International Students Website)
- A duplicate copy of the applicant’s Qatar ID card (Non-Qatari applicants must also provide a copy of their passport; international students please refer to the International Students website)
- Two (2) recent identical passport size photographs (size 4 x 6 cm) with white background
- Applicants official test reports to Colleges that require Foundation Program ( if available) to be submitted to the Foundation Program Testing Center in order to be exempted from the Foundation Program.
For Masters degree applicants, a good bachelor’s degree certificate is important, and for PhD, a good Masters degree result.
Arabic & English
Arabic is the mother tongue and the official language of the Qataris but in a country where expatriate outnumbers local Arabs nearly 10 to 1, you’re more likely to hear the sounds of English banter on the Corniche than Arabic.
English is widely used in Qatar and this can be attributed to the fact that Qatar was once a British protectorate. The government has ranked it as the second dialect after Arabic. This is due to the fact that the country has guest workers from other countries therefore; English allows both the locals and the workers to communicate. It is, however, important to know a few words of any dialects used in the country as they are helpful. Learning a few Arabic words will make your hosts and some of the native you relate with you, feel appreciative and accept you as one of them.

September: International Students arrival to Doha.

Climate in Qatar
