According to the Times higher education ranking for 2016, the University of Toronto Rankings climbed to the 22nd best university in the world, this isn’t so far off from the QS world university rankings 2016, which ranks the institution the 32nd best university worldwide.
Other rankings include the US News Best Global Universities, 2017 placing her at 21st while the Shanghai Jiao Tong, 2016 put her in 27th place.
University of Toronto Admission Requirements
The University of Toronto has over 700 undergraduate programs and over 200 graduate programs under various departments such as social sciences, mathematical and physical sciences, Engineering, and many others.
Undergraduate Admission:
For high school students in Ontario, you must possess an Ontario secondary school diploma (OSSD), with 6 grade 12 U/M. As students from other districts, you will need your high school diploma with the inclusion of English Language results.
For international students, transcripts from your secondary school including all courses offered and will be subject to review by the admissions board to check standards according to Canadian educational standards.

Graduate Admission
Applicant must possess an honors bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a final-year average. All applications must be made online at the school’s admission board.
University of Toronto Doctoral Admission
A relevant master’s degree with an average of B+ or evidence of equal research capabilities. Depending on an A- minimum qualification, some departments accept directly from an honors B.Sc. program into the doctoral program.
Please note in all areas of admission, many departments increase their requirements depending on the number of excellent candidates requesting for admission in a particular year.
Language Requirements
They use English Language to study instruction at the University of Toronto. Therefore, every candidate for admission should have English as their first language or evidence of adequate English proficiency.
For Canadians, they will expect you to provide an ENG4U/EAE4U. Some students will be exempted from this process. If exempted, your grade 12 English course will be acceptable.
For international students and Canadian students who are not exempted, these are acceptable evidence of English Proficiency.
