Spark Undergraduate Scholarship for Syrian Students, 2017


Spark Undergraduate Scholarship is open for Syrian students to conduct their study in Jordan, KRG, Lebanon and Turkey for the academic session of 2017-2018. The scholarship is available for pursuing the undergraduate degree programme.

The aim of the SPARK scholarship scheme is to assist educational institutions in Jordan, KRG, Lebanon and Turkey with their response strategy amid the Syrian crisis contribute to the study and career prospects of Syrian students.

SPARK is an independent, non-profit international development organization. SPARK  has over 20 years of experience in working in post- conflict regions of Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Course Level: The scholarship is available to pursue the undergraduate degree.

Study Subject: The scholarship is awarded in the subjects offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship will cover the following:

  • SPARK Scholarship student tuition fees / enrolment, other allowances such as local transportation, Study materials, monthly stipend, might be supported depending on the educational programme you are applying for.

Numbers of Scholarships: Not known

Scholarship can be taken in Jordan, KRG, Lebanon and Turkey

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following area for the scholarship:

  • Applicant should have successfully completed secondary schooling and is not above 24 years old by the time of applying for the scholarship.
  • Applicants should have an Equivalent Certificate issued by the Ministry of (Higher) Education of the current country of residency (for more information about the Equivalent Certificate please checks the FAQ page).
  • The applicant should be Syrian or Syrian Palestinian and a holder of a valid ID card or valid Passport or a temporary governmental protection ID/ Residency Permit or completed registration with UNHCR as a documented refugee.
  • Applicant should apply for SPARK scholarships available only in their current country of residence.
  • Applicant does not have sufficient financial means to pursue higher education.
  • Applicant has not been approved for any type of resettlement, either the UNHCR or any other resettlement organization.

Nationality: Syrian students are eligible for the scholarship.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicant should have successfully completed secondary schooling.

English Language Requirement: Applicants must have knowledge of English language.

  • The deadline for application for the SPARK Scholarship in Lebanon and Iraq (KRG) is June 12.
  • The deadline for applications for the SPARK Scholarship in Turkey is June 16, 2017.
  • The deadline for applications for the SPARK Scholarship in Jordan is September 5
