SAAB Scholarship for Students from SADC Countries 2019

Applications are open to the SAAB Scholarship, funded by the South African Association of Botanists of South Africa. These university scholarships for African is students open to candidates who have a minimum average of 70% and study at a university in South Africa.

The South African Botanists Association awards “SAAB scholarships” to students each year. Three of these scholarships for South African students will be awarded for Honors Studies (or fourth year) in a botanical-related scientific subject worth 10,000 rands each.

SAAB Scholarship worth

SAAB Scholarship Candidates receive:

  • Three fellowships will be awarded for Honors Studies (or fourth year) in a botanical-related scientific subject worth 10,000 rands each.
  • A scholarship of R $ 40,000 will also be awarded for master’s studies.

Eligibility for the SAAB Scholarship for Students from SADC Countries

  • Bursaries are available for students from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Angola, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Seychelles, Mozambique, Mauritius, Madagascar, and Comoros.

Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria to apply (please note that if you do not comply with all the requirements, your application will not be considered):

  • Diploma with a minimum average of 70%.
  • Study in a college in South Africa
  • Currently member/application for SAAB membership
  • Have a paid member supervisor of the SAAB
    Masters students: A Bachelor of Science degree and a minimum average of 70%.

How to Apply for SAAB Scholarship for Students from SADC Countries 2019 

For this SAAB Scholarship 2019 Program, Students who meet the requirements to apply must provide a clear copy of the following supporting documents with your completed application form (submission of these documents is mandatory – if any elements are missing, your application will not be considered) :

  • Identity document (certified copy)
  • Full academic transcripts (certified true copies).
  • A CV (with names and contact details of 2 referees)
    The cover letter must be written by the applicant with a description of your proposed research interests/interests for the fourth year.
  • Letter of motivation (from your honorary title/project manager in the 4th year)
  • Names and values of other scholarships for which you have applied
