Royal Institute of International Affairs Academy Africa Fellowships in UK, 2017



Chatham House is inviting applications for the Academy Africa Fellowships in the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership in International Affairs. Fellowships are open to citizens of Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa.

The fellowship is aimed at candidates at the mid-stage of their career and who come from academia, NGOs, business, government departments, civil society or the media. They should possess knowledge of, and an interest in, one of the policy-related challenges laid out in the research topics in ‘Research Topics.

The Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership in International Affairs was formally launched by the patron of Chatham House, Her Majesty The Queen, on 18 November 2014.

Course Level: Fellowships are available to conduct research in one of Chatham House’s research departments.

Study Subject: The parameters for the research themes have been designed in broad terms to allow applicants to devise a project that appeals to their own research interests. The fellows will be hosted by and based in research teams at Chatham House, either the International Law Programme, International Security Department or the Middle East and North Africa Programme.

Scholarship Award: The fellow will receive a monthly stipend of £2,160.  Modest provision is made for the costs of relocation, fieldwork, and possible publication costs.

Eligibility: Applications will be accepted from applicants holding dual nationality which includes one of these countries.

Nationality: Fellowship is open to citizens of Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: It is required that the applicant holds a completed BA degree or equivalent, Masters degree with an international focus is preferred.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirement: All international applicants for whom English is not the native tongue must provide proof of competence in the English language.
