Deadline: 30 Apr 2019 (annual)

The study in Belgium

Course starts 2019

The government of Flanders invents a new scholarship program, Master Mind Scholarships that aims to promote the globalization of the Flemish Higher Education.

It awards 30-40 Bursaries to outstanding Master students from South Africa and other African countries.

LEVEL/FIELD OF STUDY:

Qualified Masters Programmes offered at recognized Flemish Institutions.

Instructions:

Students cannot register by themselves. Entries must be made online at the University of Flanders.

The application deadline is April 30, 2019, but you must check the internal deadline set by the University of Flanders (February 1 to March 22, 2019)

Eligibility:

Candidates must apply for a master’s degree to a higher education institution in Flanders (hereinafter referred to as Flem’s host university).

Must meet all academic admission criteria, including the appropriate language requirements for admission to the magistracy offered by the University of Flanders.

The previous degree must be from a university outside of Flanders.

Students already enrolled at the University of Flanders cannot apply.

  1. VLIR-UOS Training and Masters Scholarships in Belgium

VLIR-UOS presents scholarships to students from 31 eligible countries in Africa including South Africa, Asia, and Latin America, to follow an English taught training or master programme at  Flemish university or university college located in Belgian soil.

Host Institution(s):

Participating Belgian Flemish University or university college

Fields of study/Programmes:

English Taught Training or even

Master’s Programme at participating Belgian institution

Eligibility:

You can only apply for this award if you meet the following requisites:

A candidate should be a national and resident of one of the 31 nations of the VLIR-UOS country list for scholarships award

The maximum age for a Master programme candidate is expected to be 35 years for an initial master and 40 years for advanced masters.

The candidate cannot exceed this age on January 1 of the intake year,  Instructions and deadline:

You must apply for scholarships and admission through the university’s website. When you apply, indicate whether you are applying for a Bursary or admission.

The program varies and is determined by the board, but most of them are around February 1, 2019, or March 1, 2019. Some training programs are not open yet but will be open soon.

  1. The University of Gothenburg International Scholarships

Deadline: 14 Feb 2019 (annual)

The course starts August 2019

The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarships award Programme presents fee-paying South African students the opportunity to receive a scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree programme, with entry deadline semester 2019.

Host Institution(s):

University of Gothenburg, Sweden

Scholarship Worth/inclusions:

The scholarship covers:

  • Tuition fees for a Master’s programme.
  • 27 000 SEK per semester
  • The FAS plus insurance for fee-paying students.

Eligibility

You have to pay school fees. You have to apply for a master’s degree at the University of Gothenburg by January 15, 2019.

You must have paid the registration fee and documented your rights to training by February 1, 2019.

  1. Amsterdam Excellence Scholarships (AES)

Deadline: 15 Jan/1 Feb 2019 (annual)

The course starts September 2019

The Amsterdam Excellence Scholarships gives scholarships to exceptionally potential students from South Africa to pursue eligible Master’s Programmes offered at the University of Amsterdam.

Host Institution(s):

University of Amsterdam, Netherlands

Level/Field(s) of study:

Any English Taught Masters Programme offered in any of the following faculties:

  • Child Development and Education
  • Communication
  • Economics and Business
  • Humanities
  • Law
  • Psychology
  • Science
  • Social Sciences

Eligibility:

Students outside the European Union who have completed 10% of their class can register.

Selection is based on academic achievement, ambition, and application of the chosen Master’s program for future students.
