2019 Platt Family Scholarship Prize Essay Contest
The Lincoln Forum is pleased to announce its annual “Platt Family Scholarship Prize Essay Contest”. The Lincoln Forum is an assembly of people who share a deep interest in the life and times of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era.
The Forum endeavors to enhance the understanding and preserve the memory of Abraham Lincoln. 2019 marks the 161th anniversary of the famous debates between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas.
The essay contest is open to the students who are full-time, undergraduate students in an American College or University. Special contributions of the forum to the field of Lincoln studies contribute through a roster of activities and projects including symposia, tours, and student essay competitions.

The total amount of the essay contest announced by them is $2,700 for the winners.
Three awards are given to the winning candidates;

Platt Family Scholarship Prize Essay Contest Requirements:
In order to apply for the scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following requirements;
The scholarship essay contest is designed for students who are FULL TIME, undergraduate students in an AMERICAN COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY during the Spring 2019 semester.
You do not have to be an American citizen, but you do need to be attending an AMERICAN COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY during the eligibility period.
It is NOT open to high school students
The eligibility of entrants will be confirmed by the Lincoln Forum prior to the awarding of prizes, and all entries will be judged by the essay committee of The Lincoln Forum.
How To Apply for Platt Family Scholarship:
- Entries must contain a minimum of 1,500 and a maximum of 5,000 words.
- The essay must be typed and include a works-cited page or bibliography. End notes are suggested but not required.
- There is no application form for the contest, the essay and your contact information serves as your application.
- Applicants must include the name of their college or university with their entire and all contact information (regular and email address) must be put on the essay proper.

Judging will be based solely on the essay [grades, financial need, and extracurricular activities do not count], so choose your words well.
Judging will take place during the fall. The three winners will be announced at the Lincoln Forum annual meeting in Gettysburg on November 18th.
Checks from the Lincoln Forum will be sent to the winners in December 2018 The scholarship prize money is designed as a reward for academic excellence. It can be used for any purpose the winner desires.
Essays may be submitted via regular mail (postmarked by July 31, 2019) or via e-mail (time stamped before midnight July 31, 2019) to the address below. The July 31 deadline is designed to give these students time to finish their essays, if need be, after final exams.

This Scholarship is open to current college students who reside in the state of Arizona. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to drinking and driving. The scholarship award is valued at $500, and closes on December 31, 2018.
ConsumerHealthDigest Scholastic Competition
Competition is open to college students at least 18 years of age. Applicant must submit a well-researched health article, Info graphic or video. The scholarship award is valued at $250, and closes on December 31, 2018
Coupons for Save Scholarship
This scholarship is open to students of all nationalities and majors who are at least sixteen years old and enrolled at an accredited university or college all around the world (including U.S., U.K. Canada, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam) for the current school year. Applicant must submit an essay on how you can save money in your daily life. The scholarship award is valued at $3,000, and closes on December 31, 2018
