The National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) is offering the Houston Chapter Scholarship Program. There are two types of scholarships will be given; Health Training Scholarship and Health Scholars Award. Each of those scholarships has own requirement as stated below. Applications are accepted round the year.
The Houston Chapter established a scholarship award and is inviting applications at this time. The purpose of the award is to provide guidance and financial assistance to eligible medical, nursing, dental, pharmacy, osteopathy, optometry, chiropractor and post-doctoral students of Arab Heritage in obtaining elective training at one of Houston ‘s medical institutions.
Awards are granted on a competitive and limited basis depending on funding availability. The maximum award to any individual is $2500.00.

College or university level in medical studies.
Place of Study
In the United States of America.
Eligibility and Criteria
Health Training Scholarship:
- Arab Heritage
- Full-time enrollment in an internationally recognized healthcare related school.
- Accepted to spend > 3 months at one of Houston’s medical institutions or any affiliated hospitals for research or clinical activities.
- Willing to attend AAMA meetings during the training months in Houston.
- The applicant needs to indicate a financial need of these funds
Health Scholars Award:
This award is open to qualified medical students or residents who are in excellent academic standing, and will be presenting at a scientific meeting or planning to do an elective overseas. The purpose of the award is to help medical students or residents reach their highest academic potential, and to improve international relations and awareness through medicine.
