MND Prize PhD Studentship Grants for U.K and Irish Applicants
The MND Association is delighted to announce the PhD Studentship Grants which is available for U.K and Irish students. This studentship support the training of a graduate science student in order to achieve the qualification of PhD (or equivalent) in a subject of direct relevance to motor neurone disease. Those are selected will receive a range of interesting benefits as listed below. The application deadline is 28 April 2017.
The MND Association supports biomedical research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and related conditions, in all relevant disciplines. The objectives of the MND Association research funding programme are to support research aimed at understanding the causes of MND, elucidating disease mechanisms and facilitating the translation of therapeutic strategies from the laboratory to the clinic. The Association only supports work carried out in bona fide research institutions.
The winners of this studentship grants may expect to receive the benefits as follow:
- A student stipend of £16,000 (£17,000 in London);
- £8,000 per annum laboratory expenses;
- A total budget of £1,000, over three years, for conference attendance.
Level and Area of Studies
Ph.D research aimed for understanding the causes of MND, elucidating disease mechanisms and facilitating the translation of therapeutic strategies from the laboratory to the clinic.
Place of Study
The program can be taken in the United Kingdom.
Eligibility and Criteria
The main requirement of this scholarship is that the applicant must have demonstrable experience of supervising PhD students.
