2Joseph Hagan Memorial Scholarship

This Scholarship is awarded by Funeral Service Foundation

Previous recipients may not be given permission for reapplying. In fall term, the payment by the Funeral Service Foundation is under no circumstances given directly to the student. Tuition and fees, books, and supplies might be what funding may be used for.

On an annual basis, up to two awards are offered.

3Dennis Schoepp Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2010 by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and honors one of Montana’s finest directors. Race, religious beliefs, age, national origin, or disability will be disregarded during the scholarship award. Students may be in receipt of only one scholarship from the FSF.

This Scholarship is awarded by Funeral Service Foundation. Two awards are offered annually-one per application cycle.

Previous recipients may not reapply. Funding is sent directly to the school in the fall term; under no circumstances will the Funeral Service Foundation make a payment directly to the student.

4Unigo Education Matters $5 K Scholarship 2018

This scholarship award will be in the form of a check made payable to the accredited post-secondary institution of higher education where the recipient studies. A proof of enrollment must be submitted  by the scholarship prize recipient on or before Dec. 31, 2024.

One award offered to recipients annually.

Eligible applicants who follow directions and submit applications that are well-written and clearly and creatively address the topic.

A qualified panel of judges will select one potential winner on or about February 28 and the basis on which this selection would be made is on the criteria of

  • writing ability (25 percent),
  • creativity (25 percent),
  • originality (25 percent), and
  • Overall excellence (25 percent).

Peradventure there is a tie; the potential winner will be the applicant who has the higher score for overall excellence. The following category of people cannot win this scholarship as they are not eligible to win. They include officers, employees, directors and agents of sponsor and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons having the same residence.

This scholarship is awarded by American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP). One award is offered annually.

7ISNetworld Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and three awards are offered by this scholarship annually.

Award priority will be given to students who are inhabitants in OK, NM,TX, LA or AK.. The ISNetworld Scholarship requires the applicant to be an ASSE Student Member. For those not already members of ASSE, they may apply for membership at time of applying for this scholarship.

8Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship

The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of the student’s academics, leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences and strong commitment to involvement in community.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, students are not required to subscribe to Comcast cable or internet services. Notification will be sent to all scholarship recipients by the end of February. The recipients will be in receipt of the award at their home address by the end of June.

This scholarship is awarded by Comcast and offers approximately 2,000 awards annually.

Information can be accessed online by applicants at the Leaders and Achievers website. The principals of eligible high schools will receive the packages for nomination as it would be sent to them. Schools will then nominate one student to.

9Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program

This scholarship program is awarded by Foot Locker Foundation, Inc. 20 awards are offered on an annual basis.

The distribution of the award amount will be in four equal, annual installments. For demonstrating superior educational achievement, outstanding leadership, and a true love of the game, one scholarship winner will be selected to receive the Ken C. Hicks Scholarship.  This winner will be in receipt of an additional $5,000 award, which will make for a total of $25,000.

The following will be the criteria on which the applicants will be judged: strong moral character and embodiment of good sportsmanship; confidence and enthusiasm about being a leader; passion and commitment to empowering their communities; demonstrated academic excellence; diversity; other key attributes, such as being proactive and highly motivated, inspiring and charismatic, honest and trustworthy, genuine, strong and courageous.

Semi-finalists will be interviewed via Skype in late January. The announcement of the winners will come up in April. Anyone who is an officer or director, employee, officer or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries or a member of the immediate family of such an employee cannot apply.

10 Foreclosure.com Scholarship Program

The award amount that the top prize winner will receive is $2,500 while the two runner ups will receive $500 each.

Annually, three awards are offered.

Graduate students, students of law and/or high school seniors are NOT eligible to apply for this award. Freshmen entering in the upcoming fall semester and have received a student ID number are eligible to apply.

At the time of application, applicants must be at least 13 years of age. 13Robert L. Sackheim Engineering, Science & Math Scholarship

A one-time $1,000 scholarship is provided by The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Greater Huntsville Section provides. This merit-based program supports future aeronautics professionals who live in select Alabama and Mississippi counties, such as Pontotoc, Chickasaw, Alcorn, Lafayette, Monroe, and Tishomingo.

14Ann Wesson Memorial Scholarships

The Ann Wesson Memorial Scholarship is awarded by The Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi-Ocean Springs for $500 to $2,000 each in a bid to honor the past president and tireless volunteer who tragically lost his life in an airplane crash over Poland.

It’s intended for local college-bound students who have merit and unmet need for finance for higher education. High school counselors will be accepting applications until March 24th.

15Byron Keith Mallett JR. Memorial Scholarship

The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi (CFNM) in Hernando currently manages 233 donor-established funds, which includes the Byron Keith Mallett Jr. Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 annual award in remembrance of the 13-year-old Christian boy who was tragically killed by an accidental shooting.

After the deadline of March 31st, there will be a review of applicants’ transcripts, tax returns, references, and 500-word personal statements by the Foundation.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must, be residents in Mississippi’s DeSoto County for 12+ months
  • be graduating from Lake Cormorant High School,

16Rotary Club of Jackson Mentor Scholarship

This club was established in 1914 and follows its motto “Service above Self” by providing one of the biggest Mississippi scholarships worth $4,000 yearly for $16,000 total.

This Scholarship Program seeks in-state high school seniors who display leadership in community service-oriented activities. Before March 31st, transcripts must be submitted by interested applicants, three recommendations, FAFSA forms, and 350-word essays.

Eligibility:

17Mary Loraine Peets Buffet Scholarship

The Alumni Association of the University of Southern Mississippi created the Mary Loraine Peets Buffett Scholarship for the provision of $5,000 each year for women. This program is named after the Gulf Park College for Women graduate who was the mother of USM’s most noteworthy alumnus, singer Jimmy Buffett.

Application for this life-enriching opportunity must reach completion before February 15th.

18Luckyday Citizenship Scholarship

The Luckyday Scholarship program at the University of Mississippi was launched in 2001 and selects 75 incoming freshmen to be in receipt of $2,000 to $5,000 each year. It’s designed for residents of “Hospitality State” who have an outstanding history of a strong work ethic and community service.

Before the January 5th priority deadline, applications should be filed. Other Ole Miss funds include the Lott Leadership Scholarship and Robert M. Carrier Scholarship.

Applicants must matriculate full-time for their first bachelor’s degree, have academic excellence with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2,score at least 20 on the ACT or 1020 on the SAT-R, not be receiving the National or Presidential Merit scholarships

19Dave Cannada Memorial Scholarship

12 funding programs such as the Dave Cannada Memorial Scholarship are offered by The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson (CFGJ). It us valued at $5,000 and the merit-based scholarship honors the alumnus of 1968 set who died of leukemia just two years after his graduation.

20Young Farmer Scholarship Foundation

This scholarship is worth $3,000 apiece and confers four renewable awards annually from the Mississippi State Farm Bureau (MSFB). Two are on reservation for incoming freshmen and the other two help older or sophomore students.

21Swayze Woodruff Memorial Mid-South Scholarship

The youth division of American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) or its members could apply for this $9,000 four-year scholarship. 22NAJA Graduate Scholarship Program

The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), Inc. Graduate Scholarship Program since its launching in 1962 has given over $1.24 million to 537 awardees. It is devoted to nurturing “Care Today, Character Tomorrow,” and selects Southerners who have the intention to enter careers helping special needs children.

Accepted majors include speech-language pathology, rehabilitation counseling, psychology, gifted education, occupational therapy, and more.

23Leonard McClellan Scholarship

With location in Jackson, the Magnolia Bar Association pioneered the Leonard McClellan Scholarship in 2012 to award $1,000 to legal professionals of the future legal. The merit- and need-based program of this scholarship seeks Mississippians full of enthusiasm who are champions of social justice.

Applications should have been made before April 1st with a career goals statement, transcript, FAFSA form, and two or more letters of recommendation. The $1,000 Young/Hall Scholarship should be pursued by students already attending law school instead.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be, seniors graduating from high school in Mississippi, have financial need for an accredited college degree, must exhibit interest demonstration in the science of jurisprudence and possess a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
