Journalists in Germany are welcome to apply for the for IJP Middle East Fellowships for the 2017 academic year 2017. These fellowships are travel and work fellowship to spend a two-month period in Germany.
The International Journalists Programmes (IJP) are a non-profit and economically as well as politically independent organization for the promotion of young journalists.
Course Level: These fellowships are available for Journalists.
Study Subject: These fellowships are awarded in the field of journalism.
Scholarship Award: These fellowships will cover the following:
- The fellowship carries a payment of 4,000 euro per person. This sum is intended to cover a large proportion of the travel costs, board and lodging. Fellows are expected to contribute a certain amount themselves. There will be no payment for the individual’s work on location as a journalist.
Number of Scholarships: Up to five fellowships are available.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for these fellowships:
- Applications may be submitted by any citizen of the countries mentioned above aged 21 or over who is working as a regular employee, trainee or journalist, for media. The maximum age is 37 years.
Nationality: Applicants from middle East, especially from Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Palestine can apply for these fellowships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: Applicants must be journalists.
English language Requirements: Applicants must meet the necessary language proficiency requirements of the host institution.
How to Apply: Applicants can apply by post.
- The application must be accompanied by a passport photo, detailed curriculum vitae, and a journalistic appraisal written by the head of department or editor-in-chief.
- The latter should support the application, guarantee temporary leave of absence for the duration of the fellowship, and serve as evidence of journalistic activity.
