The International Journalists’ Programmes (IJP) is delighted to pffer German-Israeli Journalism Fellowships to outstanding young journalists. These fellowships are provided to Israeli and German journalists in Germany.
The aim of the fellowships is to raise awareness of aspects of German-Israeli relations in future multipliers and will give them a personal insight into the mentality, culture and everyday life in Germany and the European Union.
The International Journalists’ Programmes (IJP) are a non-profit and economically as well as politically independent organization for the promotion of young journalists. IJP are organised decentrally and have no administration.
Course Level: These fellowships are available for Journalists.
Study Subject: These fellowships are intended to enable young journalists to familiarize with the political issues in Germany at an early stage of their career.
Scholarship Award: These fellowships will cover the following:
- The fellowship carries a single payment of 4.000 Euro per person. This sum is intended to cover a large proportion of the travel costs, board and lodging. Fellows are expected to contribute a certain amount themselves. There will be no payment for the individual’s work on location as a journalist.

Scholarship can be taken in Germany
Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following area for the scholarship:
- Applications may be submitted by any Israeli citizen aged 21 or over who is working as a regular employee, trainee or journalist for Israeli or Arab media.
- The maximum age is 37 years.
Nationality: Applicants of Israel and Germany are eligible for this fellowship.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicant must be employee of Israeli or Arab media.
English Language Requirement: A very good knowledge of English is expected. While a knowledge of German will naturally be welcomed
How to Apply: Applicants can apply via post.
- The application must be accompanied by a passport photo, a detailed curriculum vitae, and a journalistic appraisal written by the head of department or editor-in-chief. The latter should support the application, guarantee temporary leave of absence for the duration of the fellowship, and serve as evidence of journalistic activity. Samples of work may be enclosed
