Full List of winners of Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in Bangladesh
The Erasmus Mundus Scholarships, funded by the European Union, are exclusively awarded to students coming from both EU and non-EU countries that have been selected to attend one of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Programmes at Masters or Doctorate level.Through the Erasmus Mundus scheme, both EU/EEA and non-EU/EAA students can apply for a scholarship to undertake specific Master’s degree programmes that are offered jointly by a Danish institution and another European university or college.
The event included two short presentations on other EU projects for higher education – “Blended Learning for Teacher Educators in Asia and Europe” (BLTEAE) and “Advancing Skill Creation to Enhance Transformation” (ASCENT) – said an EU Dhaka office press release.
Representatives of EU Member States diplomatic missions and Honorary Consulates took part in the event.
The EU Ambassador said: “Higher education institutions are crucial partners to drive forward and stimulate growth. Relations between EU and Bangladesh in the area of higher education are further strengthened.
“EU will continue supporting inclusive, effective and connected higher education systems and helping higher education institutions to contribute to innovation as stressed in the new EU agenda for higher education,” he added
The Erasmus+ programme aims at enhancing the quality of higher education by promoting dialogue as well as understanding between people and cultures through mobility and academic cooperation.
Having originally been founded in 1987, the Erasmus (European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) programme recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. The current iteration of the programme, Erasmus+, merged seven prior educational schemes of the EU into one integrated initiative. The Erasmus+ programme began in 2014 and will run until 2020.
The programme is open to both students and teachers.
This year, 61 Bangladeshi students have been selected to study in numerous European cities for Masters or Doctorate programmes, enrolling in different areas such as environment, maritime studies, human rights, nutrition, business studies, sociology, IT, culture, communication, international cooperation, health.
The scholarships will allow the Bangladeshi students to enrich their experience and to develop their professional skills as well as to deepen their understanding of other cultures.
