About the Dangote Academy Junior Technician Scheme in 2020
The Dangote Academy launched its Junior Technician Scheme (JTS) in 2010, at the Obajana cement plant, in Kogi State.
Basically, the reason for this establishment is to help aspirants and employees to acquire technical and management skills training.
Another reason for the Dangote academy junior technician scheme is to provide youths with very specialized skills for technical works.
In addition, the Dangote academy JTS has become necessary in view of the fact that the Group and most industries in Nigeria cannot rely solely on universities and polytechnics to provide the specialized technical and managerial training required for running modern industries.
Applicants for the Junior Technician scheme by Dangote will undergo 18 months training program. Consequently, participants are placed under experienced engineers from all over the world and in cement plants, having modern equipment and using advanced technology.
Therefore, the participants of the Dangote academy junior technician scheme should become master technicians at the end of the 18-month training program. The areas where they will become master technicians include Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Welding and Fabrication, Machining and Fitting, Mechanical Maintenance, Automobile Maintenance, and Instrumentation.
