Chalmers University Avancez Scholarships for Masters in Sweden 2018

The Chalmers University in Sweden is delighted to announce the availability of the Avancez Scholarships for Masters program, eligible persons are encouraged to send forth their applications before the deadline.

Level: master degree

Field(s): The field(s) of study to which the scholarships will be awarded is determined annually by the University President. For the academic year 2016/17 the field of study is unrestricted, but it will be distributed according to targeted areas of education determined by the university management, based on the total number of applicants per each area of education from previous academic year.

Scholarship covers: -A 75% reduction of the tuition fees (4 semesters / 2 year programme)

-Students who excel during their first year of studies may receive an increased scholarship reduction, which covers 85% of the tuition fee during the second and final year of studies

-No funds are transferred to the scholarship laureates

Eligibility

To avail Avancez Scholarships, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  •  Citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish University education.
  •  1st year Master’s programme applicants

Selection criteria for  Avancez Scholarships

‣ The selection is based on the applicants’ relative academic excellence, which primarily includes weighted average grade but also home university’s stature (including position on global ranking lists) and priority order of the application for Chalmers Master’s programmes.

Notification:

‣ Scholarship notifications will be announced by Chalmers from March until mid April 2016.

How to apply for scholarships administered by Chalmers

Preparation

  1. Apply for a Master’s programme
    Scholarship applications will only be processed after the corresponding online application for Master’s programmes at universityadmissions.se has been completed, including having submitted all the required documentation verifying your eligibility and having paid the application fee. Only applicants fulfilling the eligibility requirements for the Master’s programmes applied for are considered for a scholarship.

  2. Rank your programmes
    The ranking of the Master’s programmes that you applied for (no. 1 to 4) is crucial for the assessment of your scholarship application. To maximize your chances of being offered a scholarship from Chalmers you should select a Chalmers programme as your number one priority.

Scholarship application

The scholarship application has to be made online and it consists of two steps. We encourage you to apply for scholarships as soon as possible, but no later than 16 January 2017, since this will greatly expedite the assessment process. However, there is no correlation between how early an application is made and the likelihood of receiving a scholarship.

NOTE! Before applying for scholarships administered by Chalmers you must first make an online application to one or several Master’s programmes at Chalmers through the website universityadmissions.se (see section 1-3 above).
Without the 7 digit application number that you will receive after having made the Master’s programme application you will not be able to apply for any of the scholarships offered by Chalmers.

Fill in and submit this online form
Please note that the electronic application form is used only for the scholarships awarded by Chalmers. You may apply for multiple scholarships provided that the eligibility requirements are fulfilled. All submitted data must be verifiable against the documents received by University Admissions in Sweden as part of your Master’s programme application at universityadmissions.se.

The only exception is additional data required by Chalmers when applying for the
Sievert Larsson Scholarship (available to Thai citizens only)

Step 2

Soon after you have submitted the online form (step 1), you will be sent a personal link to the scholarship application form. Please note that it may take a few days until you receive the link. If you have not received it, please check your junk mail.

Make sure that you have your application number (7 digits) at hand, from when you made your online application to a Master’s programme at universityadmissions.se, as you will be required to fill it in. In this step you will also be prompted to submit a letter of intent/motivation so if you haven’t done it already, be sure to do so by uploading it into your personal account at universityadmissions.se

If you do not have all necessary information at hand to complete all steps of the electronic application form, your scholarship application may not be considered. 

Notification and mandatory confirmation requirement

Scholarship notifications will be sent out by Chalmers between March and Mid-April. In order to keep your scholarship, you have to accept the offered study place on your account at University Admissions. Make sure you do so by the specified deadline.
