Education like Botswana
There are also a large number and wide variety of publicly and privately administered institutions of higher education throughout the country.
Post-secondary education, divided into college, as the first tertiary degree, and graduate school, is described in a separate section below.
Botswana made great strides in educational development after independence in 1966. At that time there were very few graduates in the country and very few Botswana attended secondary school.
The best students enter the University of Botswana, Botswana College of Agriculture, and The Botswana Accountancy College in Gaborone.
A larger influx of tertiary students is expected when construction of the nation's second national university, The Botswana International University of Science and Technology, is completed.
Many other students end up in the numerous private tertiary education colleges around the country. A high majority of these students are government sponsored.
Tuition Fee in Botswana
The tuition fee you will be charged and the support available is determined by your fee status, which will be UK, EU, or International (outside the European Union).
The tuition fees are likely to rise in line with inflation in later years, subject to government policy.
If you are a UK or EU student undertaking your first undergraduate degree, the tuition fee for 2019 will be £9,250.
If you are not classified as a UK or EU student and are undertaking your first undergraduate degree, the tuition fee for 2019 will be £10,000.
Tuition fees cover the cost of a student’s academic studies. This usually includes teaching costs, registration and examination fees (not repeat or trailing modules, re-sit fees or coursework re-submission).
Any costs associated with work placements will be the student’s responsibility. Study tour charges may apply in addition on some courses.
