Blue Grass Community Foundation, the donors of this scholarship is offering a variety of scholarships to area students seeking opportunities in education beyond high school.

This scholarship was established to honour William J. Elliott, who taught physics and chemistry at Highlands High School (Fort Thomas, KY) for 32 years. An annual award of $2,000 is provided by this scholarship to a graduating senior from Highlands High School.

There must be a plan by the recipient to major in the biological or physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, business, pre-medicine or education in college.

2Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship

Award Amount: $8,000

Scholarship Description

This scholarship award is available for four students enrolled in part-time graduate study. The students are to be employees of a local or state government and preparing for a continuation of their career in the finance of state and local government.

Applicants must have gained employment for a minimum of two years by one or more state or local governments and must submit a recommendation by his/her employer. The applicant must be a part-time student in a graduate program in public administration, (governmental) finance, accounting, economics, or business administration that prepares students for careers in state and local government finance and expecting to be enrolled in the spring semester (including spring graduates).

Scholarship Description

This scholarship program was established by the National Roofing Foundation (NRF) and is aimed at assisting employees, immediate family members of employees or immediate family of NRCA contractor members who have the plan of pursuing post-secondary education in college and vocational programs. Funding will be given to recipients of this scholarship for up to four years of full-time study at any accredited post-secondary institution that the student chooses. The requirement for being a recipient is holding a minimum GPA of 2.0 and pursuing a program of study in a business-related field. Mr David Price through the Baton Rouge Area Foundation brought about the establishment of this scholarship Fund in November of 2007 by.
