25 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY ABROAD IN 2020

Studying abroad these days seems like the most sought after event by so many students from different parts of the world, there are just about so many reasons why we all would love to study abroad, for some the very sense of exposure to a new environment and diverse culture could be their reason, for some other, they are just after good and quality education, some would also want to see the world from a different perspective and know how things are done in other parts of the world and so on. There are endless reasons for which studying abroad has been of utmost importance.

In some part of the world, students enjoy the freedom of being able to work while the school, that way they feel this very sense of responsibility as they earn to take care of themselves.

These privileges are just not available in most of their home countries, in other regions of the world, job placements are readily available to most students who are studying in such countries that have a good market for skilled and unskilled persons.

We also understand too that studying abroad comes with its own challenges, I mean how are you supposed to feel going to an entirely different country where you may not know anyone to spend a reasonable part of your life studying.

There is usually this feeling of uncertainty, which many of scholars experience at different degree, this concern as to how one could survive and cope in that country, all of these coupled with the financial involvements of studying abroad.

Obtaining a Visa, processing your documents and all of that until you get the admission too can be a process one would almost not want to experience, but not to worry, this article will address this challenges and also provide you with tips on all you need to know to study abroad and at the end provide value-adding solutions to keep you at peace and enjoy whatever academic pursuit you want to take on abroad.

COST OF STUDYING ABROAD:

It is true that most persons that we might meet across the path of pursuing the dream of studying abroad will definitely tell us that studying abroad is the one very best thing that ever happened to them while some others might just give a million and one reasons why the couldn’t make it study abroad.

Some may say it is because of the eligibility requirement and some others may say it because of scheduling conflicts and so on but all of these should not be a problem, for most International students, from our research, have continuously reported that the cost of studying abroad seems to be what is of great concern.

There has been a very high degree of confusion and exaggeration as to how much it costs to study abroad, though most of this cost is dependent on the university and the field of one’s study, it is, therefore, necessary to say that one cannot be exact as to cost of studying abroad, we can only derive an average cost that will take care of all that is associated with studies abroad. Often times this cos of studying is deeply reflected in Tuition, housing, transportation, etc.

TUITION:

The main point of concern for study abroad students is usually tuition fees, which seems like the key that determines if you will progress abroad or not. Tuition for different programs and degrees vary with universities but having an  estimated idea or range will go a long way in decision making on tuition, Some select countries, mostly in Europe with great public education systems may charge an affordable price for tuition while some other countries might just as well charge a price beyond your estimation, so tuition can never be overlooked unless you are trying to study in a country with free tuition kind of education system, often seen in Germany.

HOUSING:

After a long days encounter with academic schedules abroad, and maybe after the days’ part-time work students do while studying abroad, it is very necessary that one gets to a place of rest, a place one can call home. This brings us to the next important aspect of funding in studying abroad program which is housing/accommodation. There are options of getting a home-stay or staying in the school dormitory, whichever the students prefer, the adequate provision will have to be made financially to carter for accommodations.

TRANSPORTATION:

Travel cost is also a major point of concern, especially when you have to take care of the traveling expenses to your host country. This will prompt you to know the cost of the program you are traveling for ahead of time. Beyond just flight to your host nation, you also want to take into consideration that you’ll likely be using public transportation on a daily basis and also doing some traveling on the side while you’re overseas. These costs (as with rent and other daily expenses) are much cheaper in certain parts of the world than in others, depending on the economic standing of your host country.

As much as all the above listed are major points of concern, there is no harm in making sure you are adequately informed on how to go about the scholarship and get proper answers to all of your questions about studying abroad, something I,d love to describe as making proper consultations to avoid making unpopular decisions.

To guide you on this path, we earlier brought you an article on Important Questions You Must Ask Before Heading for Studying Abroad in this article, we have addressed so many questions which study abroad students will often ask and we have also provided adequate answers to help you in your search for answers

Choosing a destination to study abroad can as well pose to be a going concern for most students seeking to study aboard, there are various factors that usually affect the destination one would love to study in. This factors may include location, language, culture and tradition, climate and even career and job opportunities, so students traveling abroad for studies must take time to evaluate these things and make the best of decision as it concerns them and their loved ones.

Not to worry though, just as we promised earlier to provide the value-adding solution to all the study abroad challenges, we also have provided you with a guide on how to choose the best study destination for you abroad in this article A Detailed Guide on How to Find the Perfect Study Abroad Destination. This article will sure address most of the study abroad destination questions.

STUDY ABROAD PREPARATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

It is been said that “proper preparation prevents poor performance” this is not just applicable in examinations alone but in every of our human endeavor including studying abroad too. We have heard about how students get stuck abroad due to their inability to meet up with the requirements for their studies, we have also heard of how due to inability to provide certain documents by a student on arrival to their destination have delayed their beginning the academic semester with their colleagues.

This to avert large extent is distasteful and must be addressed as soon as possible. We wrote you an article on Study Abroad – Preparation and Requirements to ensure that you are familiar with the preparations and requirements to study abroad.

How can I get a scholarship to study abroad?

Looking for a free study abroad Federal Student Aid programs cannot work, and this is why searching through the worldwide scholarships database out there can be a huge task. We have made this easier for you by providing the lists of free scholarships and grants for study abroad students.

Many educational institutions and universities give free scholarships and grants to students from around the world studying abroad in countries like U.K, Austria, Australia, China, Canada, and the United States, etc. This includes virtually all accredited public, nonprofit and privately-owned–for-profit post-secondary institutions.

we’d advise you to not let study abroad cost weigh you down because there is more than a million study abroad scholarships just waiting for you to apply for them! And who doesn’t love free money? We all get those heart-eye-emoji vibes just thinking about it.

But being smart with your money before studying abroad is just one stepping stone on the way to bigger and better adventures. Smart saving tactics mixed with financial aid (like scholarships to study abroad) mean you’ll be able to *finally* achieve your travel goal — just as long as you’re willing to put in the work of applying!

However, because we are committed to ensuring that you achieve your dreams of studying abroad, we also bring an article to guide you adequately on how to get a scholarship abroad and put an end to the question How can I get a scholarship to study abroad?

WHY ARE STUDY ABROAD APPLICATION REJECTED:

Often times, students who want to study abroad, seems to have put in a lot of work and effort in applying to study abroad, to them they have done all that is needed to be done only to get rejected, this very result does not come easy on students especially when they have committed a lot financially to ensure that the pull through. But unknown to many, there are so many reasons for which students are rejected when they apply for a scholarship to study abroad, these reasons would include the following:

  • Lack of space available for the program or school to absorb more students
  • The program applied for may not be one that is available to students that are not from the host nation
  • Level of competitiveness of the program as this will prompt consideration of only students with high standing in their previous academic records, this can also be as a result of the program being too small for the amount of demand and hence, slots are a rarity. Other schools have huge amounts of space and take people right up to the last minute almost.
  • The time of application too can be a factor as to why applications are rejected, most times we see students sending application at the last minute and hoping that they’d pull through but a late submission only makes the school have limited time to go through your application and most times the would not be able to complete that before the deadline comes upon them, so try to apply early
  • Most universities abroad consider GPA as a primary factor to grant you admission, and most times when students do not meet this criterion, they tend to be rejected for the very program the application for or even given another option as to program or field of study.
  • A financial statement provided can also be a reason  for rejection and that is why it is advised that students must have a reasonable financial back up just to be sure that the can be able to take care of themselves through their period of study in their hot country
  • Information provided during visa application if perceived as inaccurate may be led to rejection. A student going to study is expected to apply for or carry a students visa but often times there are cases of students applying for a visa that does not correlate with studies and this too will lead to their being denied studying abroad

There are also so many other factors that depend on the school’s style of operation, Generally, acceptance and rejection of students applying to study abroad usually vary with schools and programs that the student is applying for.

Against the challenge and everything that has been listed above, we also want to let you now that year in, year out, students travel abroad to study on the grounds of scholarships, some of which are fully funded and some of which are tuition waiver opportunities. We, therefore, encourage all the students seeking to study abroad but do not know how to handle the finances involved to hurry and apply for one or more from the 25 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY ABROAD 2020 see the scholarships below
