About the Award: Since its inception in 1986, CAAS has held open seminars on African area studies on a monthly basis, inviting experts from across Japan to share their latest research with the general audience. KUASOSS builds on these efforts in collaboration with Africa’s leading universities and research institutes to present seminars featuring Kyoto University’s early-career researchers and graduate students.
