To be considered for the following scholarships, file the FAFSA and the Special Scholarship Application by the priority date of February 1. In addition, the university offers hundreds of other special-eligibility scholarships with a wide variety of eligibility criteria.

The Ruth C. Bailey Endowed Award Fund for Naturalized American Students

Used to further the mission of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion by providing up to three annual scholarships to students with demonstrated financial need who are foreign born, naturalized American citizens with preference given to students who wish to study Italian culture.

The Donny R., G. Jeanne and Todd L. Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Supports scholarships that are awarded in furtherance of the diversity mission with particular attention to, but not limited to, minority students from low-income neighborhoods who are graduates of Columbus City Schools, who have displayed leadership and integrity and are active in community service with first priority will be given to students who have been accepted to Ohio State who have participated in Urban Concern/Harambee School of Columbus or the Upward Bound program.

Bell National Resource Center’s Research & Study Abroad Scholarship Fund

Offers financial assistance to African American male students who participate in research and study abroad activities offered at Ohio State and beyond.

Theresa Lucille Brown Adams Scholarship

Provides scholarships to undergraduate African American students who are residents of Columbus, OH enrolled on the Columbus campus.

Bucking the Trend Scholarship

Provides merit and need-based scholarships for in-state undergraduate students from Franklin county (and/or surrounding counties). Students must be enrolled full time, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, demonstrate financial aid need and be involved with the Todd Bell Resource Center.

Columbus Chapter of Links Scholarship

Provides scholarships for African-American undergraduates from a Franklin county area high school who demonstrate financial aid need and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Corporate Connections Scholarship

Provides support with a preference for undergraduate African American males with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, who have been involved in community service, student organizations, or has international experience and demonstrates financial aid need

El Coqui Puerto Rican Heritage Scholarship Fund

Provides scholarship support to undergraduate students majoring in business/engineering who demonstrate financial need. It is the Donors’ desire that scholarships be awarded with particular attention to but not limited to students of Puerto Rican Heritage.

Frank W. Hale, Jr. Endowed Scholarship.

Provides scholarships for Native American, Hispanic American and African American freshmen with a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0, who have displayed leadership and integrity, are graduating from a Franklin County area high school and were considered for, or awarded the Morrill Scholars Scholarship

Kevin R. Keller Endowed Scholarship.

Provides scholarship support to an undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need with particular attention to, but not limited to, students who identify as a member of the LGBTQ community, with preference given to candidates from an Ohio community with a population of 30,000 or less.

Robert E. Kibbey Memorial Scholarship Fund

Provides scholarships for African-Americans on all campuses based on merit and need

Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.

Provides scholarships with a preference for African American undergraduates with a junior or senior rank and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0

The Longaberger Diversity Scholarship Fund

Supports need or merit-based scholarships to students enrolled in the ACCESS Program or a comparable University program to assist students who will add to the intellectual and cultural diversity of the University. Preference is given to students pursuing business careers

A merit and need-based book scholarship awarded to enrolled full-time students employed by The Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center with a 2.8 cumulative GPA

John H. Rosemond, Sr. M.D. Scholarship Fund

Provides a scholarship for an African Americans male who is a freshman, a graduate of Columbus City Schools, with a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in a college preparatory curriculum. Preference is given to students with outstanding leadership potential demonstrating interest in aviation, medicine, science or the arts

Joseph F. and Mary Stranges Scholarship

Provides a scholarship to an African American, Native American, Hispanic American, or a student from one of Ohio’s 31 Appalachian counties in the Freshman Foundation Program who is also an entering freshman with a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0, is attending the Columbus campus, and who demonstrates financial aid need and merit

Income provides need-based scholarships for minority students

Lovell B. Tipton Endowed Fund for the Benefit of the Young Scholars Program

Income supports the Young Scholars Program honoring the spirit of Lt. Colonel Tipton’s community involvement as it relates to youth, including funding scholarships and/or an annual activity or event named in his memory
