The University of Southern Denmark is delighted to call for applications for the The University of Southern Denmark PhD Fellowships in Middle East Studies,2018.Eligible persons are by this notice charged to hurry and apply for this program before the program deadline.
The University of southern Denmark has Its campuses located in Funen, Southern Jutland and Zealand. The university offers a number of joint programmes in co-operation with the University of Flensburg and the University of Kiel. Hence, The Centre for Contemporary Middle East Studies at the Department of History invites applications for two PhD scholarships in the field of Contemporary Middle East Studies.
Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.
Fellowships are available for pursuing PhD programme.
Fellowships in the field of Comtemporary Middle East Studies
Scholarship Award: A PhD Fellowship is a three-year position. Employment ends automatically by the end of the period. The holder of the fellowship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
Scholarship can be taken in
Documented knowledge of a regional language and/or longer periods of residence in the region will be an advantage. Moreover, candidates with a background in religious studies or U.S.-Middle Eastern relations are welcome to apply. Only applicants who will have passed their MA exams are eligible for the scholarships.
Citizens of all nationalities are eligible to apply.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: To qualify for a PhD position student must have completed a relevant master’s degree with a good assessment by the application deadline.

How to Apply:
Applications should be sent electronically. Application and all appendices must be in Danish, English or one of the Scandinavian languages. Only material in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and English will be assessed. Please always include a copy of original diploma/certificates. The application should include:
- Special PhD-application form
- Curriculum Vitae
- Detailed project description, no more than 5 pages a 2400 units (including spaces)
- Examination certificates
- A maximum of 2 of the most relevant publications. Please attach one pdf-file for each publication. For any publication with a co-author, a co-author statement must be submitted as part of the pdf-file
Application Deadline: The application deadline is April 2018, but different levels of study have different deadlines, all within April 15th -30th
