  • English language certificate is also very compulsory. In cases when the applicant is enrolling in an English language course, this may be waived. Accepted certificates include IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge FCE.
  • Proof of adequate funds to support your stay in Ireland for a year. Immediate access to at least €10,000 in the applicant’s bank account is required.
  • Proof of sufficient finances for the period of your study in Ireland. This is the same amount for each subsequent year.
  • Medical insurance.
  • A valid passport which should be valid for at least 6 months after the course completion.

 

Applying for a Bachelor’s Degree– If you have successfully completed higher secondary studies in one of the 50 countries who were signatories in the Lisbon Convention, are in possession of a valid school leaving certificate and qualify for higher education studies in your home country, you may also qualify for higher education studies in Ireland. The prospective student is also required to prove their level of English proficiency. In some cases, he/she must also satisfy course specific requirements. For example, if a student is applying for mathematical studies, he must have studied mathematics.

Applying for a Master’s Degree– If you are applying for a master’s program at university in Ireland, it is required for you to have a relevant bachelor’s or equivalent degree diploma in your proposed field of study.

Applying for a PHD– In the event you are applying for doctoral studies at university in Ireland, it is required for you to have a relevant master’s or equivalent degree diploma in your proposed field of study.

The Senate of the National University of Ireland shall determine the basic matriculation requirements for the Constituent Universities but each University may also prescribe additional requirements generally or in respect of particular faculties of the University.

All students wishing to enter a degree course in an NUI Constituent University or Recognized College must meet the Matriculation Requirements of the University. These requirements are set out in an information booklet which is usually published annually.
