Meet the Winner of the Hopkins Alumni Scholarships

The Judges for the Hopkins Alumni Scholarship Award for 2017 has selected three Putnam County High School seniors to receive scholarships this year. Connor Bean will receive a $1,500 scholarship award, and the second and third awards will go to Abby Ossola and Mitchell Aimone, who will each receive $1,000 scholarships.

Bean is the son of Eric and Diana Berry Bean of Mark. His family includes a sister, Ashley, and a brother, Evan. He has attended all 12 years of school in the Putnam County district. During his years at PCHS, he participated in baseball, basketball, golf, Interact and National Honors Society while also working part-time at the Hennepin Pool. His future plans are to attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and major in accounting and finance.

Ossola is the daughter of William and Kelly Moriarty Ossola of Granville. Her family includes two older sisters, Courtney and Jaclyn. She has attended all 12 years of school in the Putnam County district. During her years at PCHS, she participated in Panteras, Student Council, Natural Helpers, Interact and theater productions, as well as volunteering and working part time at HyVee. Her future plans are to attend Lindenwood University in Belleville to continue her love of dance while studying pediatric dentistry.

Aimone is the son of Jeff and Traci Zywica Aimone of Granville. His family includes two sisters, Heather and Jessica. He has attended all 12 years of school in the Putnam County district. During his years at PCHS, he has participated in basketball, golf, National Honors Society and helped as an aide at the PC Primary School. He also worked part-time at Hennepin Marine. His future plans are to attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and major in finance.

The three students will be honored at the annual awards assembly in May and will have their names inscribed on the alumni plaque at the high school.

The Hopkins Township High School Alumni have created this scholarship to be awarded annually to a PCHS student or students who have attended PCHS for at least two years and are a resident of Granville Township.
