Makerere University is to invite applications for its 2018-19 three years PhD Fellowship Program. The fellowship is available for African applicants to pursue a research project in the Infection and Immunity research.
The aim of the fellowship is to support training and career development for potential and emerging African leaders in Infection and Immunity research.
About Makerere University
Makerere University Kampala (MUK)is Uganda’s largest and third-oldest institution of higher learning. Today, Makerere University is composed of nine colleges and one school offering programmes for about 36,000 undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates. Makerere University is one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in Africa.
The fellowship is awarded in the subjects of Infection and Immunity research.
This fellowship will cover University fees, student stipend, health insurance, one return airfare for the student, one return airfare for overseas co-supervisor, travel insurance, visa costs, research funds, bench fees and costs for international conference attendance.

Applicants must meet the following area for the scholarship:
- Masters degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or any Basic Science Masters in a relevant area (Immunology or Genetics)
- Award will be conditional on acceptance for a PhD programme at Makerere University

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have Masters degree.
