The University Of Prince Edward Island is gladly inviting applications from Canadian citizens who are currently enrolled in a Full-time  Undergraduate programme in any field in the university. The closing date for application is October 1.

Description: This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who demonstrate financial need, good academic standing. Preference will be given to students with an expressed interest in pursuing theological studies.

History

These scholarships were established by a bequest to the University of Prince Edward Island from the Estate of the late Eliza Jane Ramsden and specified to be known as the A.G. & Eliza Jane Ramsden Scholarships in her memory and that of her husband.

Award/Worth

These scholarships of a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of full tuition will be awarded to
protestant students who are in the greatest financial need. Academic achievement does not
necessarily need to be a defining qualification. Preference will be given to students entering the
field of ministry.

Applicant’s Nationality

Canadian citizens are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled to the University on a Full time Undergraduate study
  • Special consideration is given to students who have intentions of pursuing Theological studies.

2. Personal Statement: In your personal statement, please speak to your: 1. financial need, 2.
program of study and professional aspirations, 3. extra-curricular, volunteerism, and leadership
activities on campus and/or in the community, 4. personal challenges or obstacles you have
overcome, 5. any special circumstances which may affect your parents’ ability to help pay for your
education if applicable, and 6. any additional information circumstances you feel are important. It is
the student’s responsibility to provide the committee with appropriate information for
consideration that suits the specific criteria and eligibility characteristics as outlined in the
scholarship, award, or bursary application description.
3. Letter from a church official verifying your affiliation with the church
Note: Incomplete application packages will not be considered. Please note that only
successful applicants will be notified.
