About Australian Scholarships Group (ASG)

ASG was established in 1974 by a group of parents passionate about giving their children the best start in life through education. ASG is the largest provider of education scholarship plans in Australia. Since our inception, we have supported the education journey of more than 520,000 children and more than $2.3 billion has been returned to members and their children in the form of education benefits and scholarship payments. Whether you plan to send your child to a private, government or systemic school, education costs can add up quickly. In recent times, they have been so much going on in the social media as regards to the activities and transparency of ASG. Some people, in a review, lamented and warned others to stay away from them while others, some of who claimed to be working with ASG, defended the organisation with every prove they had.

This become a serious concern due to the fact that parents want to save up for their children’s future in academics and some of them cannot keep it in their personal accounts, so they need a trust-deserving body that will secure their money, especially with the kind of returns that ASG promises its members.

Someone who was approached by the organisation to become a member, but considered it wise to seek advice from people who had been in the system and this was the outcome…..

“Hello All

I had a representative from the Australian Scholarship Group pay me a visit and ran me through the in’s and outs of the program.
It seemed great, the returns seemed reasonable (actually very good) and they offer extra support outside the finance side of it, ie.career advices, the childs own internet profile for support, even a fancy certificate the child can put up on their wall as “inspiration”. “A complete education package”.
After reading thru the full PDS of ASG, I found that what I was told by the sales rep was not entirely correct. And there was a lot important details left out.

I have since done some research on the Company and have found quite mixed reviews, but mostly by people like me who had only had a consultation with a sales rep.

This is a huge company, and they are really bumping up their campaign at the moment, looking for new members.

It would be great if anyone with who has used ASG, let’s say who signed their children up years ago, could share their actual real life experiences. Were the financial projections you were given accurate? Did your child get to use the funds to go to the school of their choice?

Any feedback would be really appreciated as I am looking for the best way to invest in my little ones future 🙂

Thanks in advance”

Irrespective of all the anti-ASG comments and reviews, the group is still moving on with their goal of making life and academics a very successful experience for parents and their kids.
